About Marbany Kennels:

Marbany Kennels is owned and was founded by Brittany Taylor in April 2006. When I first started on my path in this hobby, I went by Von Taylor K9s, however in 2018 I made the decision to permanently change our name to Marbany Kennels.

This change came about due to being confused daily for other “Taylor” kennels who have working line dogs. The Taylor name is just too common especially in the dog world. Besides we like the sound and beauty of Marbany better, it has a special meaning to my family. Since the year 2006 when I first started in this hobby, I have learned so much about this breed, the show ring and with all of this I’ve learned how to improve not only myself but my bond and connection with my dogs.

Our goals with our dogs:

First and foremost, our dogs live in the house with us as part of our family. They are spoiled house pets.

Outside of being our pets we go out Train, compete, show and title our dogs for FUN. We want them to live long happy, healthy and productive lives with us.

Our Breeding Program:

As of, 2022, our Program will be only American Showline Dogs.

We are working towards producing dogs that can work as Tending dogs (the breeds’ original purpose) for your livestock, be successful in the show ring then go home to be the best family pet. While most see a German Shepherd and think it’s a police dog or a protection dog, we do not train or compete in any bite work actives. German Shepherds were not meant to be bite work dogs, while some dogs in this breed can and do excel at bite work and protection, they were meant for and are a herding dog - hence "shep" (Sheep) "HERD".

We want dogs that are extremely well tempered with a good clean and stable mind. We do not tolerate any temperament flaws or unstable behavior, any dog that exhibits unsound temperament will not be in our program.

We are a very small hobby/family program and do not have litters very often, maybe once a year or every other year. Our puppies are born AND raised in our house with our family, they are handled daily by people of all ages. Our puppies are exposed to and raised around other animals in our household.

We raise our puppies with the Puppy Culture Program; and with that they are also exposed to hundreds of different sounds, many different types of flooring, touch desensitizing, grooming and at about 7 weeks of age we start potty, kennel, and leash training. At about 8 weeks we also start the very basic manners training, I.e. No jumping, no biting, Sit, Come and sometimes we will start the ‘Wait’ command depending on how fast the puppy in picking up on things. None of our Puppies leave before 9 weeks of age at the minimum.

Our puppies go through a very strict de-worming and puppy vaccine schedule that is approved by our veterinarians. All puppies go home with puppy packs that include many great things to get you started off on the right path with your puppy. We include a small bag of the kibble the puppies eat to go home with you in our puppy pack. All puppies will go home with a state issued Health Certificate along with our Contracts and Health Guarantees. All of our puppies will be microchipped and registered before leaving as well.

updating our program:

As of January 1st 2022 we are implementing a much higher standard of health testing and titling for the dogs in our program before they are ever bred. All adults in our program will have at the minimum: OFA scored Hips, Elbows, Cardiac, Dentition, and Patellas. The GSDCA or the AKC Temperament Test will be completed, DM (Degenerative myelopathy) and PD (Pituitary dwarfism) statuses listed on the OFA database. All test results and links will be listed on each dog’s page.
